Basic Christianity – a short course

Exploring our Christian faith is a 12 week for anyone who wants to explore Confirmation (without no pressure to be confirmed), or simply find out more about living the Christian life.  It is informal and interactive, with lots of opportunity to ask questions.  It makes an ideal refresher course for those who were prepared for baptism or confirmation many years ago.

Sessions will begin in the week beginning 9th September.  If you would like to join, please contact Anna with your name and details on 01476 586991 or sorensenanna8@gmail.com The day and time of sessions will be decided to meet the needs of those who form the group.

Confirmation is one of the special times that the Church describes as a ‘sacrament’ – a sacred moment, when God does something special in our lives.  In Confirmation we received the power of the Holy Spirit, to guide us in our lives as Christian people, and we confirm the statements of faith that were made on our behalf at our Baptism.

Going deeper – a longer discipleship course

The Deanery will be running a free 16 session course between October 2018 and March 2019:  The course helps people to continue developing their Christian discipleship, and supports those who feel called to a lay ministry.

 The course will include:

* Supporting your faith journey and development

* Understanding and engaging with Scripture

* Prayer

* Individuals, communities and faith

* Ministry and pastoral ministry

* Mission and evangelism

If you are interested, please talk to Anna, the Rector (01476 586991), who will help you to decide if the course is right for you and if so, sponsor you.

In the new worship scheme, the Benefice Choir have kindly agreed to lead worship on different Sundays to enrich different acts of worship and events.  The next ‘Choir Sunday’ will be Sunday 3rd February, 10 am at Ropsley, when we celebrate the last event in the Epiphany season – the Presentation of Christ in the Temple, commonly known as Candlemas. It is a poignant moment in the Church year, as we turn our thoughts from the joy of Christmas to the sacrifice of Lent and Holy Week.
